Teen/Young Adults Events
Not sure what you’re going to do? No worry, we have a fun filled week specifically geared toward you. Join us during High Country Tour 2009 for pool & pizza parties, weeklong scavenger hunts, Hubley races, surprises and more. What is more you ask…well grab your gear and join us for WHITEWATER rafting touring down the Blue River. This thrilling rafting tour is surrounded by awesome mountain views and challenging fast running rapids through Boulder Canyon. Still want more? Well, we have scoured Breckenridge for many more fun activities. Bringing your skateboard? No problem. We have a great park waiting for you to do your tricks. Horseback riding, ice skating, ATV rentals, mountain biking or paint balling. These are just some of the activities you can venture out to do on your own. Your teen/young adult coordinators are waiting for you.
Prepare yourself for an awesome week of fun and friendships. You will learn new things, see new places and make new friends. You don’t want to miss out.
REGISTRATION-Upon arrival you will receive a special bag filled with goodies, the weekly schedule and more.
SCAVENGER HUNT-This weeklong event is a challenging one. Each day you will pick up your clue(s) for that day. Clues will be related to that day’s event or activities, so you won’t want to miss out on the fun. At the end of the week we will see who our winner(s) are, and prizes will be given.
MONDAY-Games & entertainment. Here’s your chance to be involved with outdoor games.
Pizza & Pool Party-by this time you’re ready for fun. We’ll start off by welcoming you to High Country 2009 and introduce you to the youth leaders. We will then give you a chance to introduce yourself to the rest of the gang. We will go over some of the items you received at registration, plus tell you how, during the week, you will be able to earn points for the Youth Achievement Award.
TUESDAY-Hubley Seminar-Need to fine tune your Hubley? This seminar is just for you. Learn the tricks of the trade to make your car run fast.
Hubley Race-Ladies & Gentlemen, start your engines. Tonight the race is on. You will be racing your Hubley to see who has the fastest car and who will earn bragging rights. There will be groups for kids, teens and adults.
WEDNESDAY-Whitewater Rafting-Catch a rapid on the Blue River. Grab your gear as we leave Frisco and raft the fast running rapids through Boulder Canyon. You will be surrounded by the beautiful alpine scenery beneath the Eagles Nest Wilderness Area. Caution, you might get wet so bring a pair of extra clothes. This rafting trip is something you won’t want to miss. Your parents might even want to join us for this activity. At the end of the rafting trip there is a retail store, and photos of your experience are available.
Sunset Symphony-Join the crowd outside the Copper Top for music and watch the great Colorado mountain sunset.
THURSDAY-Grand Tour-Today is the big Grand Tour. You’ll cross the Continental Divide, and drive up, up and up. Pay attention to where you are, as I bet a clue or two for the scavenger hunt will be during your trip. Don’t forget your camera. You might even want to “carpool” with one of your new friends. You can switch cars when we stop.
FRIDAY-Car Games-Ready for round 2 of the games? Here’s your final chance to participate in the games. Previous experience not required.
Raptor Talk-What is a raptor you ask? Well, this is your opportunity to learn all about them and to see one or two in person. How do they live, where do they live, what kinds of things do they eat and do they ever get eaten? Parents, this activity is for you too.
Good Bye Party-at the Pool- Join us as we say our good byes at the pool. Winners of the scavenger hunt will be announced, exchange e-mail addresses, take photos, get your Youth Achievement Award points signed off, & just have a blast in the pool.
